Co-authorship

« Back to Glossary Index

In collaboration and interest-based conflict resolution, authorship can become co-authorship – participants jointly shaping not just outcomes, but the process by which they’re reached. Co-authorship distributes authorship across everyone who participates in shaping what happens, rather than locating it in any one party. It recognizes each participant’s agency and makes room for their authorship. This distinguishes it from other forms of conflict resolution, where authorship is usually exercised or contested separately.
