Interdependence

« Back to Glossary Index

Work is interdependent because what people do, and what they can accomplish, depends on what others do. Tasks, roles, jobs, and processes are connected, as are the people, resources, and tools involved. What happens in one part of worfk can enable, constrain, or change what happens elsewhere.

Interdependence is also the condition that makes collaboration and conflict not just possible, but recurring features of working together.
